Welcome to Ask Auntie Angie!

Welcome to Ask Auntie Angie!

Hi there, friends!

I'm Auntie Angie, and I'm so happy you've found your way to my little corner of the internet!

Here on Ask Auntie Angie, I dive into the tricky, sticky, and sometimes uncomfortable questions that kids ask (and let's be real, that we as parents and caregivers sometimes ask ourselves too).

This blog is all about helping you navigate those "How do I even begin to answer this?" moments with warmth, honesty, and just the right amount of humor.

Whether it's questions about grief, tough topics like family dynamics, or navigating the BIG feelings kids experience when they lose a pet or make sense of the world around them, I'm here to offer thoughtful, loving advice in a way that's easy to understand.

What This Blog Is All About

1. Hard Conversations – I believe in answering kids' tough questions openly and lovingly without sugar-coating things. That doesn't mean we're diving into the deep end of complicated subjects all at once, but it does mean we're creating a space for truth and understanding.

2. Helping You Find the Right Words – Sometimes, we just don't know how to put big emotions or complicated ideas into words that kids can grasp. That's where I come in. I'll help you figure out what to say and how to say it so your little ones feel supported and seen.

3. Empathy and Compassion—I approach every topic with kindness because I know parenting can be tough. Whether it's talking about different family structures and beliefs or handling emotional curve balls, I'm here to remind you that no question is too hard when it comes from a place of love.

4. Storytelling—I'll also share stories from my time as a teacher, founder of a non-profit kids' organization, auntie, and mom. These real-life experiences have shaped how I see the world and approach tough conversations with kids. Sometimes, a story is just what we need to bring a little clarity.

What This Blog Is NOT About

Judgment – This is a judgment-free zone. There's no "right" way to parent, and I'm not here to make you feel like you need to do it my way. This is a space for learning, growing, and maybe even laughing a little when life gets messy (because, trust me, it does!).

Perfection – This isn't a blog about being perfect because spoiler alert: none of us are. It's about being authentic and showing up for our kids in the best way possible. We're all just figuring it out as we go, and that's okay.

I started Ask Auntie Angie because I've been there—trying to explain things to kids that even adults struggle to understand. I wanted a space where we could tackle the hard stuff together with empathy, patience, and a little humor to keep things light. Whether you're a parent, grandparent, teacher, or caregiver, this blog is for you!

So, bring your toughest questions, your worries, and your wonderings. I'll be here, ready to help guide the way. You're not alone in this, friend.

Why? Because we can talk about hard things!

With love,

Auntie Angie
